Meet Thiago!

First of all, we asked our dear guest to introduce himself and his journeys.

My name is Thiago and I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I’ve been travelling since I was a kid, with my parents and sister. My parents used to buy a Brazil guide book and we used to take our car and do a trip all around the country. After a while, we started taking planes to reach further destinations.

My first international trip was in 2002, when I was 12 years old. We decided to visit Buenos Aires, in Argentina. This is part of the reason why Buenos Aires has a special place in my travel memories: it is the place where it all started!

With whom are you usually traveling?

Nowadays, I still travel with my parents, sometimes with my sister, sometimes with friends and, also, in the last couple of years I started doing solo trips.

How do you manage to harmonize between your work and travels?

In the year of 2013 I graduated from Law School and after taking the bar exam, I got a job at the Brazilian Federal Prosecutor’s Office, where I did my internship.

I have 30 vacation days per year, plus the Judiciary recess during Christmas and New Year, so what I do is: I split my vacation days and try to combine it with national or state holidays (Brazil has lots of holidays, trust me!) and maximize the number of my traveling days. This year I managed to visit Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand and Philippines), India during the Carnival, and three short trips during three nice holidays in April (Madrid, Morro de São Paulo (Bahia State) and Buenos Aires).
