Time to improve our skills! Let’s hear what Thiago has to say about photography.
Tell us a bit about the equipment that you are using. With what did you start? What do you use now? Why did you choose this particular model? Is there a camera that is on your wish list?
I started with a cheap Samsung digital camera and now I’m traveling with Canon T5i (18-55mm and 50mm lenses), GoPro Hero Silver 4 and my iPhone 7. I really like the GoPro, because I can take it to some places where normal cameras wouldn’t be able to go and also because it takes pictures from a very different angles.
What was that that inspired you to get into photography? Do you have like role models?
I don’t have any role model who would have inspired me to get into photography. I did a photography course after I got my first DSLR, since I didn’t know what any of those buttons were for. Now I know how to use one, but I’m still an amateur photographer. I do it only as a hobby, though I like it very much and I’m planning on taking more courses to develop my skills in the future.
What is that you love to take pics of the most? Moreover, why?
I do like all kinds of photography, but I do take a lot of pictures of local people and landscapes. I also like having my personal pictures taken on the places I visit (that is why a GoPro and a selfie stick are so handy! Hahaha).
Walk us through some basic rules that you apply to when taking photos. Are there some particular techniques? Do you take pictures only during some particular time of day?
I’m very amateur when it comes to taking pictures, therefore I still don’t have any big rules. I do find early morning and late afternoon the best times of the day to take my pictures, since the sun’s not shining too bright. I also like taking landscape pictures during sunset, so whenever I go, I try to search for the best places to do sunset photography.
